Collapsus Progress Report 2018!

Hey all! It's been a while since our last post (about a year, if I remember correctly). We've started doing our blog posts over on our website, so you guy's have missed a bit if you've not been following us over there or on social media. I wanted to give all you wonderful people an update on the project... and I've gotta say, it's a BIG one! Try not to *flip* out!

Just another Manic Con-Day

Happy Halloween! September and October have been such amazing months, packed full of so much for us that we just forgot to make a blog post for September (oops). October is always our big event season and we're no strangers to travel; but this September/October brought us to Columbus, Dayton, Atlantic City - NJ, and Huntington - WV! While not planned, doing big ol' "4 event blog posts" around this time of year has become commonplace for us, since we just don't have the time to do individuals with all that travel. Anyway, it was great to stretch out and take on some events new and old. So, let's talk about them!

A Match Made in Matsuricon!

So, I spent 10 days in Germany this month (plus 2 days on a plane/in an airport), so I got to skip work for a good chunk of this month. This was also the month I started work as a part-time game design high school teacher on the side (don't worry, I started officially when I came back). Right after I got home, I had one day to rest before my first day as a teacher (we played Super Mario Bros), and then, that Friday, Adam, Steve, and I headed off to Matsuricon!

The One About PAX East

So yeah, PAX is by far the biggest event we've ever done, and since it happens to be the biggest event here in the states, there's a good reason for that. Nowhere to go from here but back down, folks! Anyway, normally PAX East is 3 days, but this year they decided to make it 4! Since we're exhibitors, that means we had to have everything set up a day early... and since we like 14 hours away (with good traffic), we had to leave here on Tuesday at 10pm!

2017 - A Year In Review

Wow! 2017 was a HUGE year for us! Even wist the rest of the world outside these studio walls not doing so well, in here everything's coming up Milhouse! With this post, I wanted to take a trip back through the year and a brief look forward into next. It's been an eventful year, so I hope you're all comfy! ALL ABOARD!

Events, Events, Events, Events (Oh, Yeah... and Events)

Man! October had a LOT of events for us! September 30th-October 1st gave us GDEX, October 14th saw Ohio Gaming Brigade's Pop-Up Con #2, the 21st-22nd gave us BOTH Kabo, and LexPlay, with the month ending for us on the 27th with the West Virginia Game Developers Expo! That's not counting all the news that happened BETWEEN those events! Let's get going else we'll be here all day...

Festival, Con, Festival (Our Trip to Matsuricon 2017)

Hey all. This blog post is going to be a *bit* shorter than some of our other event posts, mainly because we took a BUNCH of pictures on Nat's phone and then it up and died on her. So, with not a lot of visual aid (until we can figure how to recover the pics sealed in their plastic and glass crypt) our trip just doesn't read very long. So... uh, yeah. Sorry about that.

Moving on...

Out of One Pub and Into Another - UDCon and Municipal Brew Works!

Hey everyone! Sorry blog posts have been fewer and farther between. We've been working on getting Collapsus finished (and Greenlit) as well as working actively on Cave Worm, Burst Lancer, and Radarkanoid 3000. Couple that with the last couple events we did (and are planning on diving right back into more) and you can see why we have our hands full! Well, speaking of those events, today's blog post is all about the events we just came from: The Ohio Gaming Brigade's Dayton Designed: UDCon Edition at the University of Dayton (man that's a mouthful!) and St. Patrick's Day at the Municipal Brew Works. Let's jam!

What an EVENTFUL Year!

It has been one heck of a year for events! Expos, conventions, conferences... you name it! Over the course of this year we've been to 13 events. Wow! We've been in Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis and more! It's been pretty amazing to say the least.

MADNESS! 4 Events in 3 Weeks!? (Dayton Designed, LexPlay, GDEX and Alive After 5)

Hey all! Wow, we're exhausted! On October 22nd we went up to Dayton for The Ohio Gaming Brigade's "Dayton Designed: Game Night at Star City Brewing Company" (wow that's a lot to type; certainly not Twitter friendly!) then on the 28th, we headed down to Lexington for LexPlay and on the 29th, we went up to Columbus for GDEX! Yup, with both LexPlay and GDEX being two day affairs, we actually split up the team and took them both on! Then on November 3rd, we hit up our own hometown Hamilton for Alive After 5: Game Night! Here's how it went...

A Bright Idea... Festival

Hey guys! Wow! It's been a pretty crazy week for us! Not only did Kristy, Natalie, and I spend all Wednesday night (and Thursday morning) setting up for the Artspace Hamilton Grand Opening (Kristy and I live there and I'm the chairman of the resident committee) but then, after spending all day Thursday actually at that event, I took a Greyhound at 3am to Louisville, KY for IdeaFestival!

4 Short Updates From Wraith

Hey all! Things have been going really well around here as of late, though, if I'm being honest, today's blog post will probably be pretty short. See, most of you already know roughly what we have to report on anyway, so none of the news is really "huge" or anything. With that being said, here are "4 Short Updates From Wraith" (and yes, that is supposed to be a Simpsons reference hidden behind several layers of incomprehensible). Let's rock!

Indies at Indy (PopCon)

Hello everyone! Sorry that the blog schedule has been... let's just say "weird" as of late. We've been putting a lot of effort into getting Radarkanoid done for the end of Kentucky Fried Pixels (which ends Sunday, so expect a Radarkanoid postmortem then) and getting the demo (and subsequent weekly releases) of Collapsus done before we hit Indy PopCon. This is all on top of us finishing up our physical Radarkanoid arcade cabinet for the Fitton Center's Hindsight exhibit, finishing up our paperwork for The Game Master's exhibit at COSI, and Pandoracon. All of this while we've been interviewing a new guy for our team! Saying that we've been busy is a huge understatement!

It's Showtime!

Hey all! I just wanted to give you all a quick heads up that we will be going to a few events very soon! Over the past few years we've been to A&G Ohio three times and Pandoracon once. It wasn't until last year that we got to go to our biggest event at that point: The Ohio Game Developer Expo (OGDE, for short) to show off Collapsus to all of our wonderful fans and fellow indie developers! It was a real blast and we hope to return again later this year (though we haven't registered just yet). This year has already had us driving all the way down to Kentucky for EKU's Vector Conference where, once again, we got to meet and demo Collapsus to all of you lovely people... but that's not all for this year.
